Achievement Award 2000 - Jonathan Winters
For half a century, Jonathan Winters has kept America laughing.
The documentary, "Jonathan Winters: On the Loose," will
screen at 3 p.m. at the Ojai Valley Inn following the Gala Awards
cermony.
Winters will appear after the screening to speak and answer questions
about the film.
In his 50 years of funny business, Winters has become one of the
most respected and admired artists in the entertainment world. He
has appeared on nearly every variety show on television, beginning
with the original "Tonight Show" with Jack Paar. His films
are classics, including "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"
and "The Loved One." He is a Grammy Award-winner, and
12-time Grammy nominee. Numerous cartoons bear his memorable voice.
Winters and wife Eileen have two children and five grandchildren.
They live in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, where Jonathan paints
and writes when he is not performing. He is currently writing his
autobiography. |
